Sound portals

The work finds its conceptual anchor in the air ducts of old buildings, those functional yet mysterious structures that transmit muffled voices, fragmented echoes of lives lived beyond the walls. These sounds, often decontextualized and stripped of their visual source act as a cerebral catalyst, sparking the imagination to piece together narratives from mere auditory fragments.

"Sound Portal" is a meditation on the unseen, the unheard, and the barely perceptible, a tribute to the invisible forces that shape our experiences.
At its heart, the installation invites viewers to engage with what lies beyond the immediately apparent, offering an opening to a realm of imagination and introspection. The discreet sound emanating from the pipe defies visual dominance, compelling us to focus on our aural perception and its capacity to trigger the mind’s eye.

This subtle sonic experience challenges the modern reliance on hypervisibility and overt stimuli, instead embracing the nuances of quiet, ephemeral presences. By doing so, "Sound Portal" disrupts the usual hierarchy of senses, allowing sound to become the conduit for exploration, reflection, and connection. It calls on viewers to slow down and pay attention to the spaces between, to the delicate boundaries where reality and imagination meet.
